Mego Dolls – History, Information

Mego was a toy company that was founded by David Abrams in the early 1950’s. In 1971, Martin Mego began began purchasing the license rights to popular movies, comic books and television shows. Mego produced a variety of dolls in the 1970’s and 1980’s until they went bankrupt in 1983. Mego is best known for it’s action figures, dolls and accessories. The most popular Mego dolls were the superheroes from DC Comics and Marvel, making up the World’s Greatest Super Heroes! line and celebrity dolls.

Neal Adams, a well known comic book artist, was responsible for most of Mego’s artwork and packaging.
