My Buddy Dolls From Hasbro, Playskool – History, Information

My Buddy dolls were 21 inch dolls made by Hasbro starting in 1985 until the late 1980’s. They came in two versions, a blonde version and a brunette version.

The brunette My Buddy doll had:
brown hair with a bowl like cut
red baseball cap
blue sneakers or shoes with white stripe
long sleeve shirt with red, yellow, blue and white
blue overalls with the “My Buddy” logo on the chest
the doll was made of stuffed fabric
face had brown or blue eyes, freckles, button nose, and smile

The blonde My Buddy doll had:
blonde hair with a bowl like cut
blue baseball cap
red sneakers or shoes with white stripe
long sleeve shirt with red, yellow, blue and white
red overalls with the “My Buddy” logo on the chest
the doll was made of stuffed fabric
face had brown or blue eyes, freckles, button nose, and smile

In the 1990’s, Playskool started making My Buddy dolls. To save money, the dolls were made with clothing sewn directly on the doll which didn’t please consumers since you couldn’t dress them in different outfits. The shoes were unremovable as well. The face was virtually the same with the hair being either red or blonde.
